Now in our 40th year, our bi-monthly magazineLa Posta: A Journal of American Postal Historypublishes informative research by the leading students of  U. S. postal history. Each 80-page issue is filled with interesting articles, discussion of timely topics, and collecting tips. In addition, through its display and classified ads and auctions, La Posta has become an important source for collectors and dealers to buy, sell or trade postal history material.

In addition to our journal we publish a ever-growing list of books and monographs related to American postal history, and in recent years we have begun making selected reference works available as e-books.

If you have an interest in some aspect of American History and would like to learn more about the unique perspective to be gained through exploring our country's postal past, please examine our products and services in greater detail.

Hints for using La Posta Online:

1) Our cover image appears next to Yudu's Carbon Neutral message. The message is standard for all online publications on Yudu and is not particularly helpful for navigating La Posta.

2) The black bar that appears above the La Posta cover is your key to navigating. Note the number "1" in the white box in the middle of the bar that indicates you are viewing "page 1" of the journal. The arrows on either side of this box permit you to turn pages forward or back. You may also use the vertical bars next to the arrows to skip to the end or back to the beginning of the journal.

3) Moving right along the bar you will see magnifying glasses with a double-headed arrow and a plus sign. Hold your mouse over each and it will give you an indication of what they do. In short, these permit you to adjust the size of the text on our pages and to view images in greater detail. Experiment with the magnification effects to see what best suits your needs.

4) The pointing hand cursor becomes an "open hand" in magnification mode and if you hold your right mouse button it becomes a closed hand and allow you to drag or move the open pages to the position you wish.

5) At far right on the navigation bar is another magnifying glass next to a box labeled "search". Type in a word or phrase and the built-in search engine will seek all references to that term in the journal. Try it! Type in "sub-station", click on "Go" and watch what happens. A box opens showing all examples of your term identified in the journal. To visit any of the references found simply click on the highlighted term and you'll be taken directly to the page.

6) Additional tools are shown on the left half of the navigation bar including options that allow you to add a note to a page, bookmark a page, or printout pages at home. Please experiment with the various tools to learn what works for you and what doesn't.
