Bids may be submitted in confidence according to the following rules:

1) All lots will be sold to the highest bidder through mail, email or phone bidding. Mail bids sent to our Oregon address must postmarked by Feb. 12, 2007. Phone & e-mail bids directed to helbock@la-posta.com or (61) 26645-1829 (Australia) are accepted until 10 PM Pacific Feb. 25, 2007. Minimum bid for each lot is $3.00 or 1/3rd the estimate, whichever is higher.

2) Bidding Increments are as follows: up to $10.00 - 50 cents; $10 to $20 - $1.00; $20 to $50 - $2.00; $50 to $100 - $5.00; $100 to $300 - $10.00; $300 to $500 - $25.00; and over $500 - $50.00. Bids submitted which do not match these increments will be reduced to the next lowest increment, i.e., $27.85 becomes $26.00.

3) Telephone bids are welcome up to the hour of phone bid closing (10 PM Pacific). Callers may be provided "opening" bids during the last week of the sale. "Opening" bids are defined as one bidding increment above the second highest current bid. The limit of the current highest bid will not be disclosed. Opening bids will be posted on this website during the final 10 days of the auction and updated frequently during the final days of the sale. Callers, please be advised that Australia is 16-18 time zones away from North America. The best time to call is between 3PM-10PM Pacific or 6PM-midnight Eastern.

4) In the case of tie bids, the lot will be awarded to the bid sheet with the earliest postmark or recorded phone or email bid.

5) Winning bidders will be notified by letter mail. Prices realized are posted to this website a few days after the sale closes.

6) Since condition is such an important factor for most postal history material, bidders are encouraged to request photocopies or scans of lots of interest. Mailed photocopy requests must be postmarked prior to February 1, 2007. Bidders desiring photocopies should mail their request to PO Box 100, Chatsworth Island, NSW 2469 Australia along with $1.00 to pay return postage. Limit 20 photocopies per auction please.

7) Lots deemed unsatisfactory due to improper description may be returned for credit or a refund provided such returns are made within 5 days or receipt of material.
